U-Channels (MS Channels) in Kenya
Mild steel U-channels — also called C-channels or MS channels — are a workhorse structural section used for purlins, roof trusses, floor joists, mezzanines and vehicle chassis.

About U-Channels
U-channels combine good bending strength with flat mounting surfaces, making them easy to bolt or weld. Their open profile also makes cable and pipe routing simple, which is why they are so common in industrial buildings.
We stock 75mm through 300mm depths in 6m standard lengths, in thicknesses to suit both light framing and heavy structural spans.

FAQ
U-Channels — questions we get asked.
What thickness do I need for roof purlins?
Typical light industrial roofs use 100mm or 125mm channels. Heavier warehouses use 150mm or 200mm — always follow your structural engineer's spec.
Are U-channels the same as C-channels?
In Kenya the terms are used interchangeably for the same open-profile section. Datasheets sometimes distinguish parallel-flange (PFC) from tapered-flange channels.
